ABOUT PAUL HARRIS

Paul is a Chartered Engineer with Electrical Engineering as his principal discipline and has extensive experience within the construction industry in mechanical and electrical building services (MEP) and critical systems engineering. Paul’s global scope of projects has extended across the UK and Ireland, USA, Middle East and Australia, where he has worked and resided. He is currently based in Greater Manchester, UK. Industry sector experience includes commercial, residential, healthcare, education, mixed use and custodial with his specialism being in the data centre sector.

THE COMPANY NAME

53 Zero Two is inspired by the geographical co-ordinates of Manchester (53 degrees north, two degrees west). The company name takes inspiration from Manchester, where Paul is from originally, and the wider region – an area synonymous with engineering, innovation and achievement and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Paul is passionate in his approach to his work and embraces the current Information Age and ongoing technological revolution taking place in society, again with Manchester being a leader.

Paul’s main responsibilities were to provide electrical design services for projects, operating as an unsupported engineer able to attend key strategy and client facing meetings and represent the company, provide briefings and disseminate information to the wider team. Punctual and dependable throughout his dealings with all elements of the project process.

Paul is very professional in his approach to projects and in throughout any dealing with the client or wider project teams. Paul is capable of working unsupported and delivering project design at the highest calibre.

Paul’s responsibilities included design of the electrical services for a 5 MW data centre, electrical installation, switch gear, fire / security and mechanical interface.

Paul checked all technical submittals from the consultancies – carried out several client facing meetings – obtained consensus for design principals – identified elements not meeting the project brief – client interface – protected our company’s interests. Paul was key – we would not have managed without him.
